Sam Clark | Europe/Australia-Pacific Wildlife Photographer, Consultant, & Guide
“My mission in photography is to make a difference…in your hearts, and on this land.”
Sam Clark has had a love affair with Africa since she can remember, venturing there for the first time in 2009. Visiting as a professional landscape photographer, Sam's passion for the African wildlife and the deep spiritual connection she felt, converted her to pursue full time African wildlife photography, with images now sold worldwide. With the deep respect for all living creatures, and compassion to look after them, came the natural progression into the world of conservation. Sam is a firm believer that photography plays an important role in the conservation industry. ‘If we can educate people, evoke emotion, encouraging people to feel compassion towards our wildlife through powerful imagery, then people will want to look after and protect what we have’ says Sam. Sam uses her images to raise funding towards several conservation organizations including Walking For Lions for which she is now the Australian coordinator. She also supports orphans, schools and underprivileged people in Africa as the Australian representative for the Child Uganda Initiative. She now runs small group African photographic safaris and even though photography based, all have an underlying conservation awareness incorporated into each itinerary. Sam currently leads her ‘Passion for Primates’ Photo Safari to Uganda in June/ July with focus on the endangered Mountain Gorillas. In September/October, Sam runs her ‘Big Cats and Elephant Trails’ Photo Safari to Kenya inclusive of clients personal baby Elephant adoption. Sam is looking to expand into Tanzania. As well as Giclee prints, Sam also carries a line of bookmarks, cards, and magnets with her lines expanding. She also hopes to publish a book in the near future. Originally from New Zealand, Sam now resides in Melbourne, Australia with her two children and cat. For more information on photo safaris or other inquiries, kindly contact her at [email protected].
